Dr. Robert Benningfield

Dr. Robert Benningfield

Dr Robert Benningfield graduated in 1975 from Palmer College of Chiropractic and began practice in Peoria in 1976. He has done extensive postgraduate studies leading to a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Rehabilitation, a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Chiropractic Certification in Spinal trauma, and a member of the Council of Chiropractic Physiological Therapeutics and Rehabilitation. Dr. Benningfield is a published author in the Journal of Sports, Chiropractic and Rehabilitation.

He is currently the Clinical Director of the Rehab Department and he is certified in the Proficiency and Utilization of MedX Diagnostic Rehabilitation Equipment. Special interests include spinal trauma, sports injuries and exercise rehabilitation. Certified in Active Release Technique.

Dr. Brian Rafool

Dr. Brian Rafool

Dr. Brian Rafool was born and raised in Peoria, and is a 1987 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Rafool is a certified provider in flexion/distraction technique sacral occipital technique and extremity adjusting. He is also a fully certified practioner in Active Release Technique. Dr Rafool has taken many additional hours in corrective exercise and is a Level 2 Chek provider. Dr. Rafool is a certified chiropractor in spinal trauma.

Dr. Mark Zimmerman

Dr. Mark Zimmerman

Dr. Mark Zimmerman was born and raised in Peoria. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1987. Dr. Zimmerman utilizes the Palmer Package and is certified in activator methods and Cox flexion/distraction technique. He is also certified in Active Release Technique and has completed a 100-hour peer review certification.

Dr. Chad Walker

Dr. Chad Walker

Dr Chad Walker graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in October of 2005. He specialized in physiotherapy and rehabilitation during his time there and took additional courses to become certified in Active Release Techniques. This is a soft-tissue diagnosis and management system focusing on resolving chronic repetitive injuries such as those encountered in cycling, running, and repetitive work movements. As a result of his training, he was a member of the Active Release Technique treatment team that provided care to athletes competing in the Ironman triathlon in Madison, Wisconsin.

Post graduate studies included Cox flexion distraction technique, an upper cervical specific technique (NUCCA procedure), and several courses in specific nutritional analysis and treatment. This Functional Diagnostic approach looks at 4 primary body systems to analyze for weakness and deficiencies. Dr Walker also completed a 10 seminar series on pharmacology to understand possible deficiencies and interactions between medications and supplements in order to provide overall care and safety. His goal is to naturally provide alternative and additional means to strengthen and support the body in healing chronic unresolved problems.

Dr. Qiang Zhang

Dr. Qiang Zhang

Dr. Qiang Zhang was born and raised in China. He is a licensed acupuncturist and chiropractor. While he was in China he trained in the ancient Chinese tradition of acupuncture. He then graduated medical school in the early 1980’s and became one of the youngest neurosurgeons practicing in China. By 1984 he was head of the neurosurgery department at the hospital. He was chief neurosurgeon in China until he moved to the United States in 1990. Once in the United States he enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic to seek a masters degree in anatomy, and then decided to become a chiropractor. He decided to reside in The United States and now lives in the Quad Cities. He joined Benningfield and Associates in November 2004.
